1. Good Luck!Right now, my first back up camera failed, so the company replaced it, the problem is that the app even after a force stop, clear cache, clear data, uninstall, power down, restart, reinstall still has the info,(wi-fi network & password) related to the one that got sent back and it can't be cleared out.

2. Apparently, the developers didn't figure you would ever get rid of the original equipment or need to connect a second one.Great Deal $299, amazing rearview camera! I've been using it for a couple of months now.

3. I also advise to avoid upgrading to Android 10 until you've had a chance to test it on another device you don't plan on using with your backup camera.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Pearl Issues

1. Fix Pearl Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Pearl: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Pearl App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Pearl" » Open Pearl - Upgrade your car » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Pearl » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Pearl - Upgrade your car app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Pearl servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Pearl - Upgrade your car" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Pearl app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Pearl might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Pearl. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Pearl then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Pearl not working


2. Fix Pearl Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Pearl be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Pearl not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Pearl may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
