1. For years I’ve dealt with this by taking pictures of my work in progress and then using photo editing software to superimpose that image over a source image to check my work.

2. Like the Camera Obscura of old, the obscur app allows you to instantly superimpose source images over your creative work.

3. Choose a photo or image from your device and then hold it up to your canvas or work surface.

4. As an amateur painter, I’m often frustrated by my drawings – somewhere between the model and canvas my brain gets involved and things move out of place or scale.

5. It allows me to instantly compare my work-in-progress with a source image and make adjustments on the fly.

6. Tapping the pause button will freeze the "live" image for closer inspection.

1. Help!Great training tool for learning proportion! Though it would be nice to be able to re position images after freezing the cam (difficult to do this accurately when taking the photo) and to have a flicker option.

2. This is a great service to many amateur artists who are struggling to get a precise drawing.I can't use the image in the size I want, have to adapt to the size given by app.

4. The very brief instructions say "Crop, rotate and scale the image as you like." I do that but it snaps back to big again.

5. This is one of the few camera lucida apps that I could get to run on my tablet.

1. Fix obscur Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart obscur: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the obscur App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "obscur" » Open obscur » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for obscur » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear obscur app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from obscur servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "obscur" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check obscur app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, obscur might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall obscur. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall obscur then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing obscur not working

2. Fix obscur Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make obscur be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to obscur not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, obscur may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
