1. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!I have not been able to use the newsletter part of the app to send my clients emails for almost 3 months now because almost as soon as I begin composing a message everything freezes and crashes.

2. Really missing square appts at times.I've been using Gloss Genius for the last year and its made keeping track so much easier.

3. There are a few areas I think need tweaked such as, options for scanning in/creating gift cards in order to track them, have the ability to create specific discount codes to keep track of promotions and apply them easily at checkout.

8. Moved to GlossGenius and I absolutely love how smooth and easy for both myself and my clients and looks fantastic as well.

9. Lots more options than square offers for your customers, including holding cards instead of having to fight with square about deposits and refunds.

11. Otherwise I like this app - it is simple and customizable but not super compatible with Samsung tablets.I tried so hard to like this app because it had potential but the customer service skills or lack of is REALLY annoying.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix GlossGenius Issues

1. Fix GlossGenius Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart GlossGenius: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the GlossGenius App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "GlossGenius" » Open GlossGenius » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for GlossGenius » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear GlossGenius app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from GlossGenius servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "GlossGenius" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check GlossGenius app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, GlossGenius might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall GlossGenius. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall GlossGenius then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing GlossGenius not working


2. Fix GlossGenius Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make GlossGenius be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to GlossGenius not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, GlossGenius may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
