Why should I report an Issue with WatchPower Wi-Fi?

About WatchPower Wi-Fi

1. WatchPower is an android mobile monitoring application which can monitor off-grid inverters via Wi-Fi module.

WatchPower Wi-Fi Customer Insights

1. Please update the app for user friendlyness for the end user, not for the electrician who installs the system.Lately this app is not able to communicate/adjust the settings on my inverter, I always have to manually do it, all the app does is to allow me to view the performance/consumption of my system.

2. When it does work the data is normally delayed by a few minutes, so if you want real time data look for another monitoring device and app.It was very difficult to set up the app, especialy connecting the app and the inverter and the wifi.

3. But they're not able to be found in the device list using any type of search, so I am unable to manage them remotely, it's disappointing since I liked the options available..2 stars because it does allow updating the settings.

4. Too bad my new system only has wifi.The app seems to only work with the cloud server, which they would let it work locally and have real time output.

5. However, it has a lot of useless information, but lacks the importaint info of total kW generated today, total kW generated this month, time since utility power failed (loadshedding time).

6. The registration process is clunky, no way to deregister a device, "realtime" data a VERY slow to update (minutes).

7. Other problem is the application isn't able to set all inverter parameters.

8. Also I never connect to grid so not sure if that is why I always have one alarm, there is nothing in the app that tells you what the alarm is.The app is important part of the settings, tuning and performance of several large inverters.

9. Everything works on the Android app for me except for on the Overview screen the Today Power: always shows 0.0.kWh even though the graph clearly shows power being produced.

10. When it doesn't work, it's always very inconvenient as it's down precisely when you need to adjust settings.

11. If I go to the overview Tab it says I have two devices, and shows the total output.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix WatchPower Wi-Fi Issues

1. Fix WatchPower Wi-Fi Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart WatchPower Wi-Fi: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the WatchPower Wi-Fi App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "WatchPower Wi-Fi" » Open WatchPower Wi-Fi » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for WatchPower Wi-Fi » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear WatchPower Wi-Fi app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from WatchPower Wi-Fi servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "WatchPower Wi-Fi" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check WatchPower Wi-Fi app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, WatchPower Wi-Fi might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall WatchPower Wi-Fi. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall WatchPower Wi-Fi then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing WatchPower Wi-Fi not working


2. Fix WatchPower Wi-Fi Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make WatchPower Wi-Fi be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to WatchPower Wi-Fi not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, WatchPower Wi-Fi may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

    I have 3 MPP SOLAR devices when I added two devices to the WatchPower app and no problem with that, but when I try to add the third device the problem appeared, All devices have disappeared from the Devices tab, but in the Overview tab all devices appear with no problem.
