1. Really unfortunate.Allows scanning of a phone or tablet (in my case, but also does pc) while doing other in-phone/tablet tasks with no intrusion & fast enough (based on processor speed, memory capacity, how many apps/files & what's running in the background).

I wound up going through each app uninstalling and reinstalling until I found the one causing the problem Other than that the app does a very thorough scan albeit a little slow.I had high hopes that this app would satisfy my concerns tho I must admit, I'm not very comfortable for my device has very unusual behaviors lately and there's no one can see what's going on here.

3. Edit: 03/20/23 After some time, I lost my premium again, update database doesn't work, AND the scans now take way too long.It literally does nothing.

4. 3) I'm tired of having to re-write my emails to Tech Support b/c they don't carefully read the list of issues I've carefully described in detail.I always liked Malwarebytes used on it on my PC's but it doesn't seem to work as well on phones.

5. Update:2023 the update database button is still unresponsive despite having a newer phone.

6. I am having the same issue as another reviewer that said that the scan stops completely if the screen goes off for any reason and you can't navigate away from it while it's scanning.

7. For one, the "database version" update, when done manually, is slow and gives no indication that it is actually in progress.

8. The database update button didn't seem to do anything, assuming because it was up to date.

9. My choices are left on my phone and stays on the screen even when I leave and or update to get rid of this.

10. Edit: After some time, the team did fix the issue and my phone is actually running faster.

11. The first time I did it, I kept hitting "update" because it didn't appear to be doing anything.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Malware Issues

1. Fix Malware Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Malware: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Malware App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Malware" » Open Malwarebytes Mobile Security » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Malware » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Malwarebytes Mobile Security app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Malware servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Malwarebytes Mobile Security" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Malware app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Malware might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Malware. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Malware then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Malware not working


2. Fix Malware Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Malware be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Malware not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Malware may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
