1. It's easy, you don't have to do anything: Lightning channels are automatically created by the wallet when needed and you can check their status on Bitcoin explorers.
2. Phoenix is a next-generation Bitcoin wallet that lets you send and receive Bitcoin easily.
3. Phoenix is also self-custodial: you (and only you) have control of the key of the wallet.
4. Phoenix natively supports Lightning for fast and cheap transactions.
5. Backup the key, and make sure to keep it safe!
1. The only thing is the fees, that are okay when making bigger payments but I noticed that each transaction requires at least 10 sats in fees, which defeats the purpose of making transactions below 100 satsI was not able to receive a payment since app was not open in the foreground, having an option like "wait for payment" would be nice.
2. Had to send 10000 sats from another wallet just to open a channel and to be able to accept smaller transactions.
3. It didn't want to function when you wanted to create a bigger channel, possibly on purpose.I found it smooth and secure but I think the 1% fee specially for lightning transactions is a bit high.I haven't used it but have seen it in action.
4. After 2 5000 sat transactions the rest are being declined saying I need to open another new channel and these aren't large enough to pay for it.awful fees.
5. I wish the wallet had a bit more information about transaction fees, for before (estimation) and after the transaction is done.
6. Otherwise a great job!The UI looks nice or whatever, but when you first send a payment it takes 3k sats from 10k you just sent.
7. Also knowing, that I can recover my sats anytime using another wallet that supports BIP39 is a big bonus.
8. 👍👏👏My favourite Lightning wallet out there! UX and UI is great.
9. It seems to be BY FAR the most straightforward and simple to navigate #Lighting wallet I've seen so far.
10. So not only is it custodial if all your onchain to LN swaps have to be through their address, but also they charge insanely high fees of 1%.
11. If you dig deeper into the app, you'll find they charge 1% to take Bitcoin from onchain into lightning channels and they do so through their own addresses that you don't own.
