RentCafe Resident Customer Insights

1. It was an excellent app before and it is better still now! It makes paying my rent incredibly quick, easy, and reliably; ending the payment process with the amount of payment submitted and a confirmation number.My complex went to this method of payment vs mailing it in to the Wellington Group which is more convenient.

2. The UI could you a complete makeover! At least to fall under Material Design guidelines!!! I would also like to see a "Payment History" feature added so users can look back on previous rent payments and be able to print something showing all relevant payment info.

3. It has some issues though, like the request services button takes you to a login screen that doesn't work, and there's no easy way to contact the office through the app either, which is a problem for people like me who can't call in during business hours do to our work/life schedules.

4. I don't want to do that every time, just want to be able to reset my password 🙄I've been using this app for about 3 yrs now and it's, for the most part, stayed the same.

5. However, if paying from my bank account, the entire account number is visible! For security reasons that is not acceptable and needs to be fixed ASAP! Only the last 4 digits of our accounts numbers should be visible.

6. Doesn't help that there's no contact info on the website either other than their phone number.Biometric still doesn't work, and you can't even set it up once you're signed in.

7. I was using the app build for Creekview CrossingI've been using this app to pay my rent for the past two years.

8. 1/2/2020... Still using the app, now going on four years, RENTCafe,' to pay my rent.

9. Multiple issues that need fixed.It's a great and convenient app and does what it needs to and lets you view all uploaded documents like your lease.

10. Update: The bank account numbers have been decreased to the last four digits.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix RentCafe Resident Issues

1. Fix RentCafe Resident Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart RentCafe Resident: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the RentCafe Resident App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "RentCafe Resident" » Open RentCafe Resident » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for RentCafe Resident » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear RentCafe Resident app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from RentCafe Resident servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "RentCafe Resident" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check RentCafe Resident app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, RentCafe Resident might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall RentCafe Resident. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall RentCafe Resident then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing RentCafe Resident not working


2. Fix RentCafe Resident Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make RentCafe Resident be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to RentCafe Resident not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, RentCafe Resident may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
