Himalaya Customer Insights

1. I've heard from creators that this is app is good for them, and it's fine for finding shows and (usually) for playing episodes, but it's not a very good user experience.I like the user interface, but it is designed to be a streaming app, and does not allow downloads to be stored anywhere but on the phone's internal memory.

2. It's happened on episodes of a few different shows, and doesn't seem to be an issue on the production side as listening to the episode on a different platform does not have the same thing happening.

3. This is only a minor inconvenience to me because my phone is left charging overnight but it may become an issue for others using the app on transit or without easy access to charging.Finding shows is easy and maintaining a list of followed shows n my library is also easy.

4. Some basic operations (such as resuming a failed episode download) are so unintuitive that I end up wasting considerable time trying to figure them out.

5. If you want to go back and thumbs-up or review an episode of a show it almost invariably starts auto-playing the episode, which (a) interrupts an episode you may be listening to and (b) removes the "played" flag from the episode you want to review.

6. The arrangement of episode display is not very good if you want to read the show notes upfront.

7. In some episodes, the audio of a certain part will loop, which isn't that big of a deal except that this sometimes results end the end of the episode being cut off.

8. The iPhone native app that I used before switching to Himalaya didn't do that.Stuck in download hell Nice looking, user friendly app but it's far perfect.

9. My only peeve is that the sleep timer won't work on the "after current episode ends" setting.

10. The list of of shows and episodes on the platform is fantastic.

11. When your garbage app resets multiple times, I can only choose to either listen to the same 10 minutes of material 3-4 times in a row or drive distracted and try to put the player back where it should be.
