Windy.com Customer Insights

1. I need to check to be sure - but considering what features are available for free, it balances outEven the best weather app is very poor when support is only allowed to verify my account using a single method.

2. UPDATE: I stand behind this app being the best for cloud coverage, however one main feature that I enjoyed was going back 12 hrs to see weather radar.

3. I like to stay in radar view to see upcoming weather, and always somehow end up moving the forecast off of my location.

4. If those two issues could be addressed this would be hands down a 5 star app.I'm a fan of the app since wind speed is often badly wrong in other weather apps.

5. All the maps load correctly and the time counter is counting but cloud cover is either not moving over time at all or they're moving but not at all smooth, depending on the widget.

6. My only complaint is that the temperature doesn't change to Fahrenheit, which I attempted to set in the initial setting prompt, on the settings page, and by carefully clicking on the temperature in the city forecast display.

7. I'm not interested in seeing the future radar, I want to see the current conditions.

8. Updated to reflect the fact that Fahrenheit/Celsius control now works.Hands down this is the best satellite cloud view.

9. The only thing that isn't so great is that they changed the number of hours you can go back without paying for a subscription.

10. Now, I have to find more free sites and apps to find what I want.

11. I tried following the instructions they sent for finding my invoice, but the instructions appear to be for the old web-based version of Google Pay.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Windy.com Issues

1. Fix Windy.com Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Windy.com: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Windy.com App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Windy.com" » Open Windy.com - Weather Forecast » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Windy.com » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Windy.com - Weather Forecast app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Windy.com servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Windy.com - Weather Forecast" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Windy.com app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Windy.com might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Windy.com. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Windy.com then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Windy.com not working


2. Fix Windy.com Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Windy.com be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Windy.com not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Windy.com may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • Hello, my name is Pedro Ivo Camarinha. I am Brazilian and I work at Cemaden (National Center for Monitoring and Early Warning of Natural Disasters). We provide our radar database for Windy. However, today we notice you no longer provide the past data of satellite and radar for "non-Premium users.
    So, we (Cemaden) would like to know if its possibile Windy provide some premium accounts for free to us.

    We are a government institution and our data can be provided free of charge. However, it is not permitted by law for third parties to use our data privately.

    I am not sure you are the correct person to talk about it. If not, plese tell me who could be a better person to help us

  • What does the white color mean , inside the light purple areas, in a horrible hurricane or tropical storm? I use the Rain and Precipitation Tab. It's frustrating trying to figure out what it means, (With the color not marked to a measurement like the other plain colors).

    I have cancelled your subscription today after finding you took a direct debit of £36.99 which I was deceived after paying a £2.99 one off cost!
    Customers should not be deceived like this and have reported to my bank which they advise to inform you to pay a full refund or Fraud Deptford will intervene!
    You will also note I have note I only took this App out a week ago on the basis of a total cost of £2.99

  • I occasionally using your weather program, it is really great platform and by the time could be one of the leading platforms of this kind, however some adjustments in software are needed regarding Sea Currents, it showing opposite direction in weather picker flag. Currents must be shown to what direction they are flowing but not from what direction they flow, that is applicable only for Wind, Waves and Swell sea only. For example if you set Weather Picker to Kuroshio stream along coast of Taiwan it shows SW flow but it must show NW as Kuroshio stream is going to NW direction. So, Weather Picker must be reprogrammed. Hope it will help to improve your great weather site.
