1. There hasn't been an update in all this time, so I still can't send pictures from my phone, there's still times when messages will show up in push notifications and not actually in chat, and it's just a step down from the original steam app in almost every way, including being a separate app instead of built in like it used to be, in the year 2023.
2. Sometimes, I struggle to open my own profile because of goofy "server issues." It's really just a glorified message reader, which shouldn't even be the case given the previous version of the chat app was great for sending & receiving.Barely usable.
3. But hey, at least photos other people send can embed now.It lags like crazy and half the time text doesn't appear in the message box for a few seconds.
4. Doesn't seem like a complicated software or system to have for a mobile version, so I'm unsure why it's so bad.Messages frequently don't even show up, or will take over an hour after receiving to notify in the app that a message was received.
5. Stickers, gifs, video will work and chat effects won't crash, but you won't be able to react or delete messages.Very laggy and frustrating to use.
6. Takes forever to load, and after I send any message the app basically stops working until I force kill and restart it.
7. If you type messages that are too long, or have to scroll through a long chat history, the application starts to lag for several minutes or until you restart it.
8. You basically have to open steam chat if you want to find out if you have any messages because this app won't tell you when you get one.
9. If you send a message before it finishes typing, it keeps the message in the box and only sends half your message.
10. And even though I have notifications allowed through my phone settings, I never get notified anymore when I have a message.
11. It shouldn't be this hard to develop a working chat app, AIM did it in 1997.After six months or more of having this app, it still barely works.
