My Key Customer Insights

1. That was months ago and I haven't seen anything yet.Decent concept but keeps giving my husband and I errors when we try to lock or unlock, saying we need to try resetting our Bluetooth or to make sure we're within 2 meters.

2. My previous lock had its own remote and did not interfear with my bluetooth headset, guess I will just have to work around the "who gets the bluetooth control" 😁App won't connect to locks.

3. My phone Bluetooth finds it immediately BUT IT JUST SPINS in the app and will never say it found the lock.

4. Downloaded this app and IT WILL NOT FIND a new lock after hitting the + sign and activating the lock by pressing any button on keypad.

5. The lock will lock using the keypad and will unlock using the generic code they provide SO IT WAS PUT TOGETHER CORRECTLY.

6. Unable to get any trubolt door locks to pair.Just had this lock installed.

7. When I'm trying to lock based on the keypad it unlocks.

8. Just bought a home with this installed, thought it was a "cool" feature but as noted in many reviews...the setup is convoluted & not user friendly, I can't figure out how to delete old account & create a new one - and calling them is useless.

9. Neither lock or unlock will work in the manual mode.

10. Also customer service is worthless- it brought me to voicemail, I left a message a week ago with no response.I'm not very phone savvy but this app was very simple and I enjoyed working with it.

11. Now trying with Bluetooth it made matters worse as you're pressing the buttons and I'm getting the same results.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix My Key Issues

1. Fix My Key Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

  1. Restart My Key: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the My Key App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "My Key" » Open My Key Mobile » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for My Key » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear My Key Mobile app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from My Key servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "My Key Mobile" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check My Key app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, My Key might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall My Key. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall My Key then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing My Key not working

2. Fix My Key Server issues & Internet Connection

  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make My Key be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to My Key not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, My Key may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
