i-Cam Customer Insights

1. It would be great to have some sort of web access too.I wasn't sure how good the camera and app was going to be when I bought it but I'm SO GLAD it works fine! I've noticed a lot of negative reviews but I honestly haven't found anything wrong.

2. My preference would be a status in the regular notification area.Camera quality itself is good but having to unscrew it from stand & undo all the wee screws on access door for batteries, sd card & reset is a pita! Picture quality is what you would expect at this resolution.

3. The camera takes so long to wake up I only see the back of visitors.Used this app with a solar camera in a remote location, the set up and installation was originally done in AP mode which does work but the announcement when connection to my phone was not something I wanted so went for the Wifi mode.

4. Connecting on demand as opposed to when triggered doesn't seem to work.It just sits there spinning and says connection failed.Connecting when triggered works fine.

5. Unfortunately i-cam rings using the phone ringtone and pops up over other apps every time the camera is triggered, even when notifications are off.

6. The delay before capture is too long.This software is designed to work better as a spy-cam than a security-cam having good recording options.App and service are ok.

7. The camera powered by this app is great, and it came with good set-up instructions for the app.

8. (did I miss where this is set?) The Video capture to a file does not work.

9. The card stores a huge ammount of files I took the card out and there were over 3000 videos.I am using about 2gb of data per month which works out at £7 on EE.

10. This is a brilliant app but it would be good for me if I could have some interface that I can use on my laptop or PC.Was good, now won't work at all on 2 solar cameras, so it's become totally useless.

11. Seems to miss a lot of the action because it isn't triggered until something has been there a while but it has captured some great night animal shots.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix i-Cam Issues

1. Fix i-Cam Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart i-Cam: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the i-Cam App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "i-Cam" » Open i-Cam » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for i-Cam » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear i-Cam app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from i-Cam servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "i-Cam" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check i-Cam app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, i-Cam might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall i-Cam. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall i-Cam then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing i-Cam not working


2. Fix i-Cam Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make i-Cam be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to i-Cam not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, i-Cam may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • I have purchased this camera from a shop, but there is a previous account it is bound by so I cannot use the camera until the previous account is deleted, I do not know who registered the previous account, and under GDRP I cannot find out, therefore, can you please delete the previous account holder otherwise I am unable to use the camera
