StyleSeat Customer Insights

1. If you pay cash and then your stylist forgets to cancel or in my case, they try but it doesn't work, you get double-charged with no way to get a refund from Styleseat!!!! That's in addition to their freaking $1 booking fee! Booksy is a better service.I've been using StyleSeat for a few years.

2. Give stylists different payment options to set up (Cash,Zelle, Cashapp, etc) & let the customer choose an option WITHOUT having to cancel an appointment that's been completed.

3. Everytime I search a specific service, I have to keep typing it in after viewing a stylist.

4. Couldn't even find customer service to help when that happened.I like that the app helps you find stylist based on what you are looking for and pricing.

5. That option doesn't work, and it says there are no search results for the owner you've messaged.At first, I thought the app was great.

6. Save your money by just contacting the stylist and setting up an appointment on your own.Do not use these folks AT ALL! They automatically charge you for your appointments and you can't opt-out (even though the feature appears in your profile).

7. I didn't like it, as I don't think it's safe to keep credit cards on file anywhere, but I understood the issues that stylists sometimes have with payment or no shows.

8. After selecting a stylist, when I clicked on the map to view the stylist location, I get an error page.

9. For the messaging feature, you are not able to review the business of the owner, and you have to put their name in the search bar.

10. If I select a barber and try to go back to the map it will basically bring me back to the home page instead of my previous search results.

11. I cant cash my clients out and sometimes they have to pay with card even though they want to pay cash because my checkout screen keeps freezing.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix StyleSeat Issues

1. Fix StyleSeat Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart StyleSeat: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the StyleSeat App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "StyleSeat" » Open StyleSeat: Book Hair & Beauty » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for StyleSeat » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear StyleSeat: Book Hair & Beauty app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from StyleSeat servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "StyleSeat: Book Hair & Beauty" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check StyleSeat app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, StyleSeat might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall StyleSeat. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall StyleSeat then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing StyleSeat not working


2. Fix StyleSeat Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make StyleSeat be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to StyleSeat not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, StyleSeat may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • I had an appointment with one of the stylist and it was canceled by her and I was told to send them money on Cash app for a deposit instead and I did but I told the stylist that her prices weren’t reasonable for me so I asked her if she could issue a refund for my money back but now she’s not answering my calls or texts

    She changed my appointment time from 8 to 1 charged my card at 11 and never did my hair,
    And is no longer responding to my text about my refund

  • I have an account with style seat. I had booked 2 appointments with a hair stylist that goes by the name Goddesshands. On sept 14 was an appoinment she cancelled out on me and said she would refund my money back . So i set up another appointment on september 17th and played me the whole day. I was supposevto go to her at 8:30:am she text me that shr got home late and did not hear het alarm. She said she would come too me all day she played me by saying she is comming then she is om her way and in traffic this went on all day till 6:30 pm . I had a wedding to go to that evening in which i did not end up going because of this goddeshands handful of lies that is is coming. I was charged on sept 14 and on the 17th and i want my money back because the hair stylist was a no show twice. I even have the text that were exchanged to back up everything i said and more.
