SONIC Drive-In Customer Insights

1. The screen loads until I receive a notification box that says "An unexpected error occurred" this happens no matter what I've tried and it is very frustrating! I just want my half-price drinks 😭Great app, easy to use and good for the discounts ... if it didn't crash all the time.

2. After putting in a long order, it'll say, "Something went wrong - there was an error entering your order." Happens ALL the time now.

3. Went to order, continued as guest, when I went to check out it asked me to create an account...then what the hell is the purpose of continuing as a guest.

4. When I hit the check out button, it freaks out, tells me my order has been updated (which is a miracle, since absolutely NOTHING has changed since I hit the check out button) and send me right back to the order detail page.

5. Needs to be fixed, or there's really no reason to use it--and since they get things wrong half the time when you order live, why come back at all?Absolutely Worthless, it's worse than our current administration.

6. I have to first configure and add an item to the cart and then go to checkout to see how much it is.Half the time I use this app, it gets all the way to the part where I'm supposed to pay for the order.

7. We have to constantly delete/re-download the app for it to work.I get an error message anytime I try to place an order.

8. The app told us our card was declined and proceeded to charge the bank 4 whole times, and the order never even actually made it to our local sonic.

9. Fortunately it confirms before final order but would be nice if you didn't lose it backing out of orders.

10. It worked in the late afternoon, but for some reason, without my opening it, at 2200, I started getting alerts on my screen of it repeatedly crashing and that it needed to be placed in deep sleep due to battery drain.

11. Everything works just fine until I tap the "Place order" button.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix SONIC Drive-In Issues

1. Fix SONIC Drive-In Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart SONIC Drive-In: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the SONIC Drive-In App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "SONIC Drive-In" » Open SONIC Drive-In - Order Online » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for SONIC Drive-In » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear SONIC Drive-In - Order Online app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from SONIC Drive-In servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "SONIC Drive-In - Order Online " » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check SONIC Drive-In app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, SONIC Drive-In might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall SONIC Drive-In. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall SONIC Drive-In then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing SONIC Drive-In not working


2. Fix SONIC Drive-In Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make SONIC Drive-In be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to SONIC Drive-In not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, SONIC Drive-In may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • For the last month I have been unable to pay for my order. I go through the process of ordering and all goes as usual until I get to the actual placing of the order. It just will not let me place the order, ever. Even after trying all the following changes, all goes well until I try to place the order. I’ve deleted the app, turned my I phone off, changed the password twice, used a different debit card,a different email address. I can’t find anything in SETTINGS on the Iphone that should be changed. Please help I like the app.

  • Hello. I have been trying to access my digital card for months. This app won't let me login, and just reads "an error has occurred, please try again". I have sent emails, and nobody helps. Can someone there help with this problem?
