Call Recorder Customer Insights

1. A lot of the problems I had with other apps, such as taking up memory space when I forgot to delete recordings I didn't need, manual or automatic recording features, filters (though my filter hasn't started working correctly, I'm hoping the developer will fix this problem and even if not the service is still better than any I have used for free previously), etc.This app works exactly how I expected and wanted it to so....I give it 4 stars.

2. It also doesn't recognize saved contacts as the incoming call (lists everything as a private number).I have tried many different apps and could never get them to record my conversations on the phone.

3. You have to leave the app, go into your contacts, add that number to your contacts, with it's identity, save it and leave contacts to go back into CALL IU, then set the 🆔.I tried posting this a second ago but it didn't save.

4. Had to turn my volume all the way up to hear a recorded call, then tried to favorite that recording and got blasted with a full volume ad.

5. I like the recordings, the app is fine, except in the call list every call shows up as "private" and does not show a number.

6. Now, certain other apps won't open at all (like Newsbreak), Google Maps starts to misbehave and I'm having issues with texts not sending or my device not wanting to use mobile data towers vs WiFi.

7. But there should be a Help file and settings so I can see what file type the recorded call is.

8. Can't edit the contact names in the app, so basically every call is recorded as "Private", so it's hard differentiate between recorded calls.

9. Rather than 5 only because I don't like the notification that comes up during every call even though I have toyed with the settings and have all notifications turned off the in call pop-up is intrusive.

10. While it does record every call, it's started to cause major issues.

11. The first test, the first time, I could listen to the recording and had the option to share it, I could click on the menu and choose things.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Call Recorder Issues

1. Fix Call Recorder Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Call Recorder: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Call Recorder App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Call Recorder" » Open Call Recorder - CallsBox » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Call Recorder » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Call Recorder - CallsBox app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Call Recorder servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Call Recorder - CallsBox" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Call Recorder app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Call Recorder might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Call Recorder. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Call Recorder then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Call Recorder not working


2. Fix Call Recorder Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Call Recorder be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Call Recorder not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Call Recorder may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
