1. I just needed a temporary solution until my new remote comes in the mail.This app works abosultely fine, and it was great when I first got it.. Had to wire the TV to my network for better responsiveness.

2. In order for the app to work, you need the TV on... Isn't the main purpose of a remote app to aid you in using the TV if you lost/broke your original TV remote? Once it's on, it works great, but that major flaw has got to be fixed.

3. However, the experience is great if you pay to get rid of the lame ads.If i could rate 0 stars i would.. Too many ads!! Seriously, it's every 5-7 button clicks and you have to constantly look back at the remote to make sure you're not pressing any ads.

5. When an ad appears, it's every 5 seconds (I'm not exaggerating for effect) and then the remote won't work unless it reconnects to the TV, essentially rendering it unusable and infuriating the user.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Remote Issues

1. Fix Remote Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Remote: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Remote App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Remote" » Open Remote for Samsung TV » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Remote » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Remote for Samsung TV app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Remote servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Remote for Samsung TV" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Remote app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Remote might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Remote. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Remote then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Remote not working


2. Fix Remote Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Remote be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Remote not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Remote may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
