Translink NI Customer Insights

1. It is not reliable and cannot provide accurate information.. which kind of defeats the purpose of having the app as that is the ONLY thing it does.App repeatedly showing old times and has listings in the complete wrong order (20 minutes being shown at the top and 2 or 3 being over a full screen down), force-stoppjng the app, clearing cache and storage and even completely reinstalling the app has made no impactCrashes trying to select boarding place using the integrated map.

Sometimes I can select my bus route but not boarding and departing stops but now it crashes trying to report the crashes, truly dreadful stuff, get a good dev on this ffs!I've been using this app since it first came out and generally speaking out does what it's supposed to do, responds quickly and has a good amount of info.

3. Bit shite reallyVery poor app have registered multiple complaints as the app information is not accurate! Timetabling info is incorrect and does not match timetables in use.

4. Just such a pity there is no real time update - you need to go to check my journey or similar to find what the delay or disruption is - like the17.10 train to Coleraine from GVS yesterday for example.

5. unfort it does not make a note of what platform buses leave from the station but I imagine this is because it can change due to busy times, driver mishaps.

6. Every time you change a field it searches, making you wait, so it takes a loooong time to actually do the search you want.

7. I'm taking a taxi, cheers Translink... your website and app are both completely useless.does what it needs to do.

8. I have mobility problems, so when I say I can walk 5 minutes maximum at a slow speed and prefer routes that involve less walking, that's what should be reflected in the results.

9. some people have left reviews and a lot saying certain things are missing...this is on the app just need to learn how to use properly.

10. If it isn't possible, say so.This app is so infuriating! I downloaded it because the website is so counter-intuitive to use... but NOTHING is clear in the app search menu either.

11. If you successfully search for a trip, it gives lists of possible journeys via bis or train but NO way to buy a ticket.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Translink NI Issues

1. Fix Translink NI Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Translink NI: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Translink NI App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Translink NI" » Open Translink NI » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Translink NI » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Translink NI app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Translink NI servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Translink NI" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Translink NI app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Translink NI might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Translink NI. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Translink NI then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Translink NI not working


2. Fix Translink NI Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Translink NI be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Translink NI not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Translink NI may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
