M1 Customer Insights

1. I have 2 Roth IRAs due to a pop up with a continue button that doesn't go away and I have a checking account that I thought didn't go through because it stated unable to process while there's a pending transaction? But got a statement.Great concept but needs improvement/polishing.

2. Unfortunately for their higher checking account yield (which isn't as good as other competitors) you have to pay a hefty $125 anual fee you also get some benefits with it but so do you with other brokers for a lesser anual fee or no fee at all!M1 is easy to navigate and easy on the eyes.

3. Rebalancing is easy, pies can br in other pies, auto-invest is easy, AND they allow for some of the intergrations you'd like such as Mint.1. This app has gotten extremely slow over time.

4. On the research tab, when doing a search, it will sometimes list all available stocks and other times, it will only load several stocks and the little circle at the bottom of the search items just goes round and round.

5. Other than that it if reliable and delightful, and without all the things that annoy me about a lot of my apps (such as sever clicks to get to login, and ease of accidently doing something while scrolling or swiping).

6. Certain functions dont work all the time, pies need to be saved manually to reset the stats.

7. Other than that, a 10 year performance history would be nice instead of 5 years.Strikes the perfect balance between traditional brokerage and robo investing.

8. I wish I could swipe left or right to get to the research view... instead i need to click on research at the bottom and find the stock all over again which is time consuming.

9. Hope they continue to improve the app, it's a great concept so far!This is usually my goto app but, it has minor issues.

10. It no longer reliably shows changes over 1 year and all time, often either not at all or shows completely incorrect data.

11. A lot.Missing some features at the overall portfolio level, and erasing the text in the search makes my keyboard collapse.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix M1 Issues

1. Fix M1 Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

  1. Restart M1: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the M1 App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "M1" » Open M1: Investing & Banking » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for M1 » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear M1: Investing & Banking app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from M1 servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "M1: Investing & Banking" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check M1 app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, M1 might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall M1. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall M1 then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing M1 not working

2. Fix M1 Server issues & Internet Connection

  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make M1 be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to M1 not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, M1 may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
