5e Character Customer Insights

1. And I see it says in other reviews that there has been an update fixing the ability to view subclasses but all it did for me was turn the background blue and make it to where it crashes when I try to look at a subclass.

2. Perhaps the way they add the information is complex, and that's the reason behind it, but it took around four months after Fizban's release for the races and feats to be added if I remember correctly.When I had this app months ago there was sooooo much content! So many races and all subclasses.

3. I've had the occasional crash and they recently added full screen ads to the app which are a little annoying but tolerable.This is a really great app, it keeps all the information up to date and for the most part is excellently constructed.

4. It was already updated; I have it set to update automatically, and I checked to see if there was some way to manually update but it says it is up to date and gives me no other options.Pretty good app.

5. This is a very useful app but there are a few minor issues I hope will be fixed.I love being able to access all of the books I already own in physical copy, while I'm out and about.

6. This app is both user friendly, AND affordable! Much respect to those who update the content!It's a good app, much like your other apps for 5e.

7. No longer are the days set aside for sitting at a table for 5 hours at a time, flipping through pages! I refuse to re-purchase all of the books that I already bought in physical form for $49.99 a pop, for full price in PDF form.

8. I'm able to look at these pages when I have other sources active, it's just that what comes from which sources seems to be a bit inconsistent.

9. In your character sheet app when I have only the player' handbook acting as a source, the celestial, undying, and hexblade patrons are options for warlocks, while those patrons don't show up in this app with only the player's handbook activated.

10. Something I noticed recently however is some subclasses have discrepancies with no level information for Level 1 or Drakewarden being missing entirely.

11. It stays up to date well and its been a huge help to my DMing.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix 5e Character Issues

1. Fix 5e Character Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart 5e Character: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the 5e Character App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "5e Character" » Open 5e Character » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for 5e Character » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear 5e Character app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from 5e Character servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "5e Character" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check 5e Character app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, 5e Character might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall 5e Character. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall 5e Character then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing 5e Character not working


2. Fix 5e Character Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make 5e Character be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to 5e Character not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, 5e Character may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
