1. Then used an Android phone to connect it, upgrade the firmware (5 min), then turned off the hotspot and changed the settings back to my home WiFi (select grill, 3 lines, Settings, Network Setup).
2. They say, "this is what we recommend" and "we cannot change this on our end." The furthest I got was to make a product complaint through customer service. Finally got it working by having it connect to an iPhone hotspot with all lowercase letters for network name and 10 numbers for a password.
3. So glad we stuck it out for the new panel and didnt return the grill.App does not connect to WiFi unless you are on 2.4 GHz and have no special characters in your WiFi.
4. It does not work at all and will annoy the hell out of you trying to get to go online.Upon assembling the grill the app wouldn't connect at all.
5. Grill switched over to home network and app said, "Oops, failed to connect." Now app keeps insisting that I need to connect to the softAP and setup the grill.
6. The people in the customer service aren't really any help either.Tried to connect to the grill, following the steps provided.
7. I have a "basic" grill that only works when plugged in.Just bought new grill and tried to connect.
8. Couldn't someone at Char-broil take a day to enter the numbers from their website into the app database? What gives?Same as others, can't connect to internet even with my wireless router 4ft away.
9. When it works it's a nice grill but it doesn't work alot of the time.
10. Being able to set the grill temperature and monitor the meat thermometer is super convenient.
11. Will be taking back and buying another brand. Finally Works! After talking with tech support and changing my home network password to contain no special characters the app finally connected.
