1. Fantastic!!Absolutely ridiculous that you don't have a phone and only a email!!! Was booking a trip for 5 people 1st class and our credit card did go through the first time, so that after a call to the bank in the USA to clear matter, the app did not accept the card again!!! Needless to say Trainline lost on a massive deal! I'd suggest someone goes back to the drawing board!!Quite nice, works well! The mobile app does not let me choose the currency, though (why do I have to pay in pounds when travelling through the Eurozone?).

2. American Credit cards worked seamlessly when it were being rejected by some of the other apps.Better than trainline (non EU) app! When buying tickets through trainline EU you get to pay the actual train fare, the same ticket on the trainline app (non EU) is more expensive.

3. Also, they do not offer all of Thalys tickets (the Belgian all station option is not available, thus your tickets are pricey).I bought a tickets for a trip between Nice and Imperia but after getting to the train station I was told that on Saturdays the train doesn't actually go to the last station meaning my transfer won't be possible.

4. It will ask to switch to the trainline (non EU) without mentioning the price difference, a bit deceiving.I use it everytime when I travel to Italy to book my train journey and it's very handy and quick.

5. Any options that you have placed disappear when you switch.Worked flawlessly - used to book 6 trips on 11 trains in and between Italy, Switzerland, and France over 12 days using Android version on Motorola phone.

6. For example, it might show only one train per hour when the national train app would've shown a second, quicker option using a transfer.Great simple way to book train tickets.

7. It's missing a few very obscure options that the SNCF website has, but it makes up for it with the efficiency of its interface.Worked well on our recent 10 day trip to France and Switzerland.

8. I recommend this app when traveling within EU to book your train journeys.

9. I messaged Trainline using their "contact us" form but haven't heard back and it's been over 2 weeks.

10. I had to buy another ticket and as I had to wait for another train my journey took much longer than expected.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Trainline Issues

1. Fix Trainline Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Trainline: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Trainline App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Trainline" » Open Trainline for Business » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Trainline » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Trainline for Business app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Trainline servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Trainline for Business" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Trainline app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Trainline might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Trainline. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Trainline then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Trainline not working


2. Fix Trainline Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Trainline be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Trainline not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Trainline may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
