SessionTalk Softphone Customer Insights

1. The font chosen for the contacts is pretty dull in the white background, a slight jazzy colour scheme will make the app stand out Edit: If a sip contact has a photo in the Android contacts section, then when that contact is called or when the contact makes a callt to sessiontalk app , the screen becomes white - this prevents users from accepting the call.

2. Thanks a lot in this version able to call, but with Mobile dialer integration direct call not supporting, But from session talk calling Mobile UI integration working good.The first sip app which works without fuss when behind a double NAT scenario without using STUN- no need to fiddle with any settings (as there are NONE to start with).

3. You (developer) need to ask and set permissions to overlay UI on other apps (currently this is NOT done) - without this when some one calls the incoming call screen is NOT visible on the Android phone I am using.

4. Update- not so sure about my original 5 star... ive been missing quite a few calls on my Note 8 and iPhone X :/ seems like I have to restart the app ever so often as it crashes randomly...SOLUTION FOR DISCONNECT BUG: The app works great but... ONLY to change the default setting of 'Registration mode' in advanced settings to 'continuous'.

5. With no UI to answer the incoming call, a small button called back to call appears in the dialing screen which needs to be pressed to get to the actual incoming call screen.

6. Occasionally when an incoming call is received the - incoming call screen is all white - no buttons nothing pure white - no way to answer the call.

7. Sometimes the status shows "registered" and the light is green, but when someone call it goes straight to automatic answer.

8. Please can the exit button be added back in the new version, as you have to force close the app as the alternative now that we don't have a close button in the app anymore.The only one works background in my cellphone.

9. In call volume is low and need an option to increase it 4.

10. As most sip servers support text messages, an option to send and receive text messages through the sip server would be a great addition, please add this.

11. I finally paid for the business and push support on the iPhone and it's been GREAT.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix SessionTalk Softphone Issues

1. Fix SessionTalk Softphone Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart SessionTalk Softphone: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the SessionTalk Softphone App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "SessionTalk Softphone" » Open SessionTalk Softphone » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for SessionTalk Softphone » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear SessionTalk Softphone app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from SessionTalk Softphone servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "SessionTalk Softphone" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check SessionTalk Softphone app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, SessionTalk Softphone might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall SessionTalk Softphone. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall SessionTalk Softphone then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing SessionTalk Softphone not working


2. Fix SessionTalk Softphone Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make SessionTalk Softphone be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to SessionTalk Softphone not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, SessionTalk Softphone may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
