Mappt Customer Insights

1. It seems as if it has been left to generate money from those stupid enough to buy it and left those who bought it years ago in the lurch!Everything works perfect, but adding a default value for each field would make the job much easier because this kind of usage usually requires changing values of 1 or 2 fields, every orher is pretty much the same so, making it posible to store a default value would make this app 5/5.

2. Why provide at a supposedly discounted trial rate through a Geo Society if the geo tools didn't work! Not happy!Just advertise the fees upfront.

3. Tick tick tict 2 hours is not enough time to test this app..... misleading and a waste of time.... otherwise, I likely would happily pay the fee, once I had time to real-life test it.Absurd how it won't let you use the app without permission to your contacts.

4. Great work - keep it up :)The Mappt app was offered to me at a special "first-year" discount of just $19 as a member of The Geological Society of America.

5. As it turned out, the geology features were disabled, and the only way to use the geologic tools I needed to purchase the $400+ version.

6. So naturally, I expected the app could be a powerful geologic tool in the field.

7. Uncontactable - used to be good and contactable - now completely useless.

8. You can not even get a contact page on line.

9. It felt like a bate-and-switch.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Mappt Issues

1. Fix Mappt Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Mappt: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Mappt App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Mappt" » Open Mappt: GIS Data Collection » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Mappt » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Mappt: GIS Data Collection app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Mappt servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Mappt: GIS Data Collection" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Mappt app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Mappt might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Mappt. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Mappt then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Mappt not working


2. Fix Mappt Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Mappt be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Mappt not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Mappt may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
